Our Story
Founded in 2007, The Dolorosa Tattoo Company has become a cornerstone of Los Angeles' tattoo community. What began as a single artist's vision has grown into two thriving studios in Studio City and Echo Park, each serving as a creative hub for some of the most talented tattoo artists in Southern California.
The name "Dolorosa" draws inspiration from ancient traditions while embracing modern tattooing techniques. This philosophy is woven into every aspect of our studio—from the carefully curated artwork on our walls to the meticulous attention each artist brings to their craft.

Chris Paez has been tattooing since 2004, bringing over two decades of experience and passion to every piece he creates. As the owner and operator of The Dolorosa, Chris has built more than just a tattoo studio—he's created a home for artists and a sanctuary for clients.
Known for pouring his soul into his work, Chris's dedication to the craft is evident in every tattoo that leaves the studio. His vision of combining ancient tattooing traditions with modern techniques has made The Dolorosa one of the most respected studios in Los Angeles.
